BUILD-OPERATE-TRANSFER (BOT)
BOT is a form of project (infrastructure or service) financing involving construction, operation, and maintenance of a facility for a specified period until the ownership is transferred, usually to a public authority.
CHARTER FLIGHT
Unscheduled flights whose take-off times are determined as per airport traffic and passenger demand organized at specific times of the year, especially in summer.
CHECK-IN
The making or verification of the ticketing and baggage delivery transactions of passengers by the staff of airline and ground handling companies at airport terminals.
DUTY FREE ZONE
Sales points at harbors and airports which serve international passengers where foreign merchandise can be purchased without import duties and taxes.
EARNINGS PER SHARE
The figure that can be calculated simply by dividing total profit remaining after taxes by the total number of shares.
EBITDA
Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization.
EBITDAR
Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, Amortization, and Rent.
GUARANTEED PASSENGER REVENUE
The revenue per passenger calculated annually by the related authority in accordance with the contract signed with the authorized organization. It may change year to year as per the Contract and the context of the Contract.
INORGANIC GROWTH
Revenue growth of a company when it acquires another company (i.e. transferring the production and revenue of the acquired company).
LIQUIDITY
The extent of an asset’s ability to be transformed into cash rapidly and easily.
ORGANIC GROWTH
Growth of a firm through its own (internally generated) activities, revenue increase owing to the increase in and sales of production.
PARTICIPATION
The direct or indirect capital or management relation creating a continuous connection in regard to involvement with the management of the partnership and defining partnership policies between a partnership and the company.
PASSENGER
All the persons travelling in an aircraft, excluding cabin crew and flight personnel.
PASSENGER SERVICE REVENUE
The service fee charged only to departure passengers.
PROJECT FINANCE
The long term financing of infrastructure and industrial projects based on the projected cash flows of the project rather than the balance sheets of the company. The financing is typically secured by project assets and revenues.
RAMP
The area at the airports where aircrafts are parked and serviced.
RECESSION
The state of the economy as it declines; a widespread decline in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), employment and trade lasting two or more fiscal quarters. It can be also defined as a slow-down in the economy.
SCHEDULED FLIGHT
Flights based on pre-determined schedules and routes.
TRANSFER PASSENGER
A passenger arriving at the airport and continuing the flight on a different aircraft within 24 hours who may benefit from duty-free, food and beverage and accommodation services at the airport.
TRANSIT PASSENGER
A passenger arriving at the airport with the intention of continuing the flight on the same aircraft or flight number to another destination, who may not benefit from duty-free, food and beverage and accommodation services at the airport.
